Ditched super horrible tie down rings on my RV-9A and went back to design used in -10 build. I think I bought them but the vendor is long gone and nothing online found (until now).
- Tie downs fabricated using 4 pieces of .063x2x3" scrap (old panel), with two .75" holes in each
- MS20257-4 piano hinges
- Aft piano hinge attach: qty 4, LP-4 pop-rivets
- Fwd piano hinge attach: qty 3, -8 screws, flap cover side panel nut plates
- Aft tie downs: ~1" inboard from wall, ~2" to aft tie down edge from baggage bulkhead
- Fwd tie downs: ~1" inboard from wall, ~1.25" aft from flap control rod
- www.classicaero.com interior baggage floor carpet mod: four 3" slits in corners to match hinge points using super sharp Exacto knife
- Carpet is easy to remove as are tie downs
- Tested using come along straps - very strong and unobtrusive
