Autopilot servo noise

When I'm on the ground, engine not running and I turn on the Garmin G3X auto pilot, a rather loud noise can be heard from the fuselage which I assume is the pitch servo energizing. It's disconcerting - Some have said this is perfectly normal, others have said it needs to be investigated. Thoughts?

Mine does the same, I have presumed it was normal.

It's the electromagnetic clutch engaging. Similar in action to automotive A/C compressor clutch engagement.

You will hear a very audible 'click' when the servo clutches engage.

I guess, inside that "drum" of a fuselage it's amplified quite a bit
