Hot Tunnel Poll

If you have hot tunnel issues, which exhaust do you have?

Well I did not read the poll correctly. On the first RV-10 build I did Vetterman Exhaust and did not have a hot tunnel problem. Current build will again be Vetterman Exhaust.

Yeah, first time trying a poll post...can't see how to reset or delete it. That Custom Aircraft vote is incorrect, too.
 
If you do it again, perhaps six options:
  1. Hot tunnel w/ Vetterman
  2. Normal tunnel w/ Vetterman
  3. Hot tunnel w/ Custom
  4. Normal tunnel w/ Custom
  5. Hot tunnel w/ Forsling
  6. Normal tunnel w/ Forsling
And define what exactly qualifies as a hot tunnel?

Probably a good list.

As far as defining a hot tunnel, that's a good point. Many complain of having one but what is the difference between hot and cold? Pretty sure people aren't putting a thermometer on it.

Probably should delete the poll and start again...now where's the delete button?

My tunnel was certainly very warm after circling the lakes for 2+ hours last Friday at <90 knots. Excepting that kind of circumstance, it stays just a little warmer than the rest of the interior. So... Do I or don't I have a hot tunnel? I dunno...

Vetterman exhaust.

My tunnel is only luke warm. In cruise, you can feel the warmth and it generates a bit of warm air coming off it. Definately would not call it hot. Seems a bit worse in climb, but that could be the warm air coming out of the ducts that only happens in climb. Vetterman, plus some mineral insulation in tunnel floor. SS heat doors with silicone insulation.
 
Vetterman exhaust on my -10, tunnel temp not an issue. In contrast, when I would fly in a friend’s -10, also with a Vetterman exhaust, his tunnel would be so hot that I couldn’t touch the side with my calf for more than a few seconds.
