AntiSplat Cowl Flaps?

I put my name on the list to be notified when these are back in stock. It seems like they've been out for quite awhile. Anyone know, were these a huge hit? Or were sales such low volume that they're not in a hurry to restock?

Anyone have any opinions on these?
 
I put them on my -10. Dropped the CHT a bit, prob about 15-20 degrees I'm guessing. They stay open all the time in the summer (based at Tucson). I'm happy with them.

The key is to troubleshoot your cooling system and determine if you need the extra exit area.
If you need cowl flaps they are a slick bit of kit.
The cowl on my Rocket (also based in AZ) is designed for takeoff, cruise climb, and cruise. Slow formation, prolonged high alpha maneuvering, and pattern work would send the oil and CHT temps up quickly.
I have 2 of Alan’s flaps on each side and highly recommend them if you need a cowl flap or 2. Or 4…

How (why) did you mount on the side vs bottom?
 
I wanted to keep the servos away from as much exhaust pipe heat as possible. I’ve read of some folks having short servo life due to heat. I still sleeved each servo in fiberfrax secured by aluminum tape.
125 hrs and so far so good.
I have 1 switch per 2 flaps.

Do you have pictures of the inside of your cowl, I want to see how you wrapped/sleeved the servo's in.
 
I’ll be out at the hangar this afternoon and I’ll take a few pix looking in the opening.
Any fireproof inflammable asbestos-like sheet wrapped around the servo will work. The aluminum tape secures it and protects it from absorbing oil. The wires are taped to the inside of the cowl and run vertically up to the horizontal cowl split. The small connectors are readily accessible with the top cowl removed.
