Stripping primer

Hello Everyone,

I'm looking for a good safe paint stripper to clean up some ribs and spars, I'm just not happy with how they turned out. They were primed with an automotive self-etch primer, the one available in Canadian tire and the like. If possible, I would like one that's readily available without having to order from Aircraft Spruce for example

Thank you in advance

D

This stuff worked really well for me, and it's available in Canada. It needs quite a while to work, I left mine on for 24 hours. But that was early spring when the temperatures were below desired.

Every non-activated primer I've used wipes off cleanly with acetone, no matter how long it's been on. I would try that before any specialty paint removers. Lacquer thinner will work, as mentioned above, as it's likely going to be mostly acetone anyway, but pure acetone is more skin safe. You should still use gloves, though.
