To be fair you can modify the EMAG advance electronically. The ability is not locked out, it is just complicated to implement and you need to know what you are doing. EICAD with a laptop, EI Commander if you can find one/have one, Engine Bridge, or you can make your own microcontroller interface to make it do what you want which is what I did.
Just so I’m smarter on the subject, when you say “…modify the EMAG advance…”, do you mean shift the whole curve, or modify the slope of the curve (modify individual points on the MAP and/or RPM map)?
Need the clarity because many people think that they can modify timing and in the past that’s been nothing more than a crude shift in the whole curve. The as delivered timing curve on the PMAG is a mess, and if that can now be fixed that is one less thing against the PMAG product.
