I believe you also have the option of cutting your tail spring off to give you a straight section that you can attach to new full swivel tailwheel mount end.My airplane is RV-6 serial number 5 and still has the original-style non-swiveling tailwheel. I would like to purchase the newer style of tail spring to support modern full-swivel tailwheels.
i highly recommend to measure the diameter of the spring and be specific about the size you need. there are two or three sizes out there.I bought the flyboy accessories tailwheel spring and screaming eagle fork to replaced the bent spring non-swivel tailwheel on our -6.

Vans has instructions for modifying your non swivelling TW. I did it on my my 4 and it worked out fine. Put over 400 hrs on it with no issues.
