How to retrofit full-swivel tailwheel to old-style RVs?

I own RV-6 serial number 5 that is still equipped with the original-style non-swiveling tailwheel. I recognize that there are numerous aftermarket tailwheel assemblies available, but it is unclear which ones are able to fit on my "bent" style tail spring. There was a time when the old tail springs could be trimmed and machined to accept full-swivel tail wheels. Now I can't figure out if that is still an option.
The modern style tail springs are currently back-order at Vans, so this option is not currently available.
any guidance would be appreciated.
If anyone is converting a tail dragger to a nose dragger, and wants to sell tailwheel parts, let me know!

Ive done this conversion using a flyboy accessories tailspring, and screaming eagle fork. I used taper pins instead of bolts on both the fuselage and tailwheel ends of the spring.
