RV-12 as E LSA MOSAIC

With MOSAIC going into effect this year, I am wondering if VAN is planning to offer E-LSA QB kits for those who want to build quickly, less than 51% and still be able to perform maintenance. This could also apply to RV-15 for which QB kits not yet are offered.

I doubt they have any plans for an RV-12 QB, given how long the RV-12 has been around, and how refined the kit has become in terms of build time reduction. The full kit goes together in probably the same number (or less) of hours as the other Van’s QB kits (mine was around 800-850 hours working solo).

Mosaic changed basically nothing at all with respect to the RV-12is kits. It was already being sold as an E-LSA kit. The 51% rule was never relevant and they could have already offered kits at any completion level they wanted.

+1 MOSAIC changed nothing. Unless van wants to sharpen their pencell and increase gross weight, increase speed, put a 915iS or 916iS in it.

I would add and QB RV-12iS E-LSA might crowd their S-LSA RV=12iS market. I just few an RV-12iS about 1.5 hours and it was a delight.
