1" - 6 point box end x 9/16" hex nut welded to a 10 Ga "handle".

And yeah, final torque is by "feel", but it also only cost about a buck fifty ...

Nice welding, wish I could do like that! What is the purpose of the hex nut, is there a separate "handle" that screws into it?

Oops - my bad, I assumed (you know starts with a** and ends with me), that a 9/16" box-end combo wrench would be attached (at any clocking) to give the additional "purchase" needed for the loosening/tightening of the filter.

This would work with an extension (needed only if firewall recess) and a torque wrench held at 90* to your wrench.
You could read the torque direct, without any math.
