Multiple Zip Tie Materials …examples from Dave_MT
it's not like we are building a Space Shuttle. Dassault uses all three methods. Adel clamps, lacing and zip ties. I can find out what the zip ties mounts are made of. This is in the nose cone.

Mag Manufacturing Issue PIREP …Scott
Is the silver colored metal piece loose on the plastic rotor?
We discovered a Manufacturing issue with this part quite a few years ago at vans and actually started a investigation after writing a service difficulty report because we found multiple bad ones.
This occurred right about the time that champion took over the slick, magneto business.
For a while, champion was actually exchanging new parts for ones that were found to have the conductor loose. We got at least two new ones on exchange that had the exact same problem new out of the box.
This is something that should be looked at very closely at every magneto inspection.

Guide Wear …dtw_rv6
I am experiencing symptoms consistent with a stuck exhaust valve, so I pulled the rocker cover and disassembled the exhaust valve for some borescope images. It shook so bad when it manifested in flight, I'm grounded until I figure out what this is. I did determine that the problem would slowly clear up at reduced throttle. It was only at WOT when the cylinder cut out.
When I pulled the valve stem out through the spark plug hole, it was very shiny and smooth. It also slid very easily in and out of the guide before I disassembled it. What is concerning to me, is the photos I have of the valve guide. It looks like a severe taper on the combustion side of the bore - I've never seen one before, so I'm not sure if this is normal.
I didn't do a wobble measurement, but I didn't feel anything excessive when I subjectively compared it to cylinder #2.
Superior XPIO-360, 1100hrs TT. Pmag/Lightspeed ignitions. 8.5:1 cylinders.
Is it time to pull the jug?

Tool DIY Porn …Dan 57 PIREP
Had some 6061-T6 in my "trash" box, and used that to manufacture said plate... I'm happy to report that despite being only 15/64" (6 mm) thick aluminum, it held pretty good and did not bend any when I did my 400H wobble inspection today.
PS
All good, but for cylinder #2 having barely any play, so the valve was dropped into the cylinder, its stem cleaned from the black gum, and some miraculous fishing performed to reinstall the valve. Ah yeah, and also having fun chasing the wandering keepers.
