I just performed the low-pitch stop adjustment on my Hartzell two-blade. I think the governor may have been limiting things a little, as I got 2700 on baseline and 2700 with one turn in (not having taken the gov out of the loop via mechanical stop). Two more go's and at 2.5 turns in, static was 2650.
Then I looked over my shoulder as I put the scratch pad away and realized I had done this static run-up at my 1,060 MSL airstrip on a sweltering summer afternoon - probably 2,500' DALT. I decided to put the limit stop back to where I got 2670 rpm - in case, as I suspect, there is a fudge factor that should be applied for static prop loading at other than sea-level.
And now, I'm asking if that's a thing and if I did right.
