What is IO-360 bypass control cable?

Drawing 19, firewall penetration “L” called out as IO-360 bypass control cable. What is it?!

Hole H is vertical induction alternate air cable. I have horizontal induction, so is hole L the alternate air cable for that, instead? If so, why call it bypass control cable?

I’m flummoxed…. I can see mixture, prop, throttle, certainly an alternate air cable for vertical induction, but not one for horizontal induction.

Any pointers appreciated, please!

Yep. That's pretty close to where mine is installed. Opens the round door on the Frankensnorkel for bypass air. No idea why the name it different.
I recommend waiting till you know 100% where you want those cables. If you really want to drill, leave them small like #40. If you don't use the hole it can be plugged with a rivet.
