I'm going to put a targa strip on my 9A tipup, partially because I need to do a little fiberglass work at the back of the canopy frame anyway (canopy rail gap uneveness that will drive me nuts) and partially because I'd like to do anything I can to provide a little more rigidity to the canopy while opening/closing to limit the torsion. I've heard that a targa strip can help with that twist that occurs.
Question - should I scuff up the canopy really well and use something like G Flex epoxy, or should I make the targa, pull it off, then Sika it to the canopy? Will one approach be better in terms of adhesion/rigidity (and dealing with heat expansion)?
