RE Pitch trim tab actuation. Thoughts?
…fixnflyguy
I have the "per plans" actuator in the elevator. I bought my tail kit unfinished and it had the manual trim cut-outs already done, but I simply modified the shape of the mounting plate. The servo is actually attached to a removable skin piece. I think its simple, and elegant, removes easy for maintenance. I made my own style control horn that's part of the close-out rib on the tab. I ran a bundle ( In the sheath I plan to send you) of the wires to the control stick and have my trim for elevator and ailerons on the stick. the servo is well forward and affects the balancing minimally. If I had an original manual trim that I converted to electric, I would probably have done the short teleflex and servo under the fairing.

Six-Cylinder PMag Plug Wire Map?
I’m running the spark plug wires for my IO-540 that will sport two six-cylinder P-Mags, and rather than randomly throwing wires in various places, or recreating what some one else has already done, I’d see if someone has already mapped which wire in the kit goes where. There are six plug wires...

Andair Fuel Valves
Ever seen a FLYING aircraft with an Andair fuel valve that was missing the funky little screws that hold the elbow fittings in place? I have! All 4 screws on both fittings NOT INSTALLED! I'm amazed that my friend was able to purchase this aircraft, fly it home, then fly it several times more...

Attaching counterweight to counterbalance rib in RV-14A rudder assembly
Step 9 on page 07-04 of the RV14A Rudder Assembly plans says to final-drill one hole, attach hardware IAW page 07-11, final-drill the other hole, then separate parts and debur. I’m confused. Am I supposed to attach the nutplates to the nutplate strip, then screw into one of them before...

Replacing Lasar/Slick mags with E-mags - RPM wiring
Replacing my Lasar/Slick setup with E-Mags due to Lasar system going out. Does anyone know which of the 3 wires coming off the Lasar RPM sensor on the slick mag (red, green and black) is for the data? It will be going to the Vision Microsystems 1000 EIS.

Pitch trim tab actuation. Thoughts?
Not sure where this questions goes but, Built an RV4 emp per (old) plans. No mentor or builders at my airport. The trim tab is intended to be actuated "remotely" vs having the actuator installed in the elevator like newer models. So now my conundrum. I have to reskin the elevators anyway and...
