Eastern NC RV10 condition inspection help wanted February 2026
My condition inspection expires January 2026. For the first two weeks of February I will be taking the 15 day light sport repairman class, after which I might be able to perform my own inspection. Complicating this is the likely need for updated operating limitations and/or the need to have the local FSDO bless me with repairman certification. I'm not sure how comfortable I will be after the class to function on my own, especially the first time. I would like to obtain some help.
I would like to enlist some help, ideally from an AP with RV10 experience, hopefully to come to my location and supervise my doing the work along with signing off the inspection if needed. I am trying to source my own tools for this but fully expect the process to be slow due to my ignorance of what all is required. I hope the right person can bring their own tools, or communicate clearly with me on tools to have on hand. I have a post here about this and will be buying a number of things.
My class ends February 15th. I have a hangar in a region that's mild temperatures but this might be a cold time of year to work long days. We operate an Airbnb and cook good food.
Happy to discuss here but firm details via private messages please.

Dent In Rudder
I took this picture other day. The rudder was like this when I bought the plane and I've wondered how it happened. Is it possible that the stabilator came up and hit the rudder from a gust or something? Doesn't seem like it could get that far without breaking or bending something...

New Electronic Magneto System
Hi. Recently, the Right magneto "went to sleep - for ever....". Since my -8 was equipped with the Lasar System, and this system is no longer supported, I thought which kind of Magneto to use. I could replace only the defected R Magneto or to change the whole system. And I decided to use two...

My battery box doesn’t line up
I aligned the left side of the box with the correct rivet on the brace but now I’m a few mm off on the right. Ugh. How snug is the PC680 in that box? Maybe I can cut it down a bit (shrink the box).

VAF Charity Cap: Help your charity and promote this site.
Get the cap all the cool kids are wearing! I don’t get a penny. It’s around $15. $5 more if you want your N-number on the back (I put 'STAFF' on the back of mine because it makes me laugh. Put STAFF on yours too if it makes you smile). And down the road $10 to the charity of your choice...
