Remote Mount Oil Filter?

n38139

Well Known Member
Anybody used a remote mount oil filter on a RV-4? I put a post on the engine forum and got replies on the Mattituck adapter, ADC and Airwolf. Any comments or tips?

thanks,

Steve

I've heard about people using these mounts and wonder what the benefit is. I undo the filter almost all the way, take a plastic grocery bag and put it over the filter to do the last bit.

I agree with Steve, cost, weight and extra room and crowding the remote is not worth it. When you price an airwolf BTW the expensive hoses don't come with it. Also per the above thread there are tools that puncture and drain the filter before removing, making the mess to a min. When it comes to high-pressure oil lines that should be fire shielded, keep them to a min.
