Quadrant control cables

RV7 To Go

Well Known Member
I have been reading about issues with the Vans Cablecraft (California Cables) control cables failing around 500hrs with most changing to McFarlane.

The ACS cables sold by Spruce are much cheaper than the McFarlane's, are Teflon lined and have a 500-600* temp rating. They don't seem to get mentioned in what I have found.

I have over 700hrs on my ACS A-920 cables with no protection other than a heat shield on the exhaust pipe close to the cable and so far they seem to be holding up fine.

I am about to order cables for my 8 and was wondering what other peoples experience has been.
