PMag Firing Order Question

As I understand it, PMags are a “wasted spark” ignition system with (Lycoming) cylinders 1&2 firing together then cylinders 3&4 firing together. Therefore (my question) does it truly not matter where the 1&2 plug wires are connected to the coil post and 3&4 are connected to the coil post as long as they’re connected to the appropriate side?

Page 8 of the manual says “1: It does not matter which cylinder is connected to which post within a given pair.”

This just seems strange to me.

Wasted spark

Dont feel bad. Still hurts my brain.
I'm an old car guy. Auto engines really run bad when the plug wjres are out of order. :D
