Door template holes not lining up

auburnaviator

Started to work on my doors today and it was a very short work session as I ran into problems right from the start. It appears that the template holes (4 around the window and the 1 fore and aft of the doors) in the inner and outer shell do not match. I drilled them per the instructions and went to cleco the two shells together and the template holes aren’t even close to lining up.

For those who have completed their doors (or at least those who have experienced this issue) what did you do to solve the problem? How did you proceed?

Thanks

As I recall, most of the holes in the fiberglass parts do not line up. This also applies to the cut lines. Your kind of on your own with the alignment. On the upside, fiberglass is easy to repair!

Bill is correct. The holes won’t line up. I think I got 1 that lined up reasonably.
So just drill your own holes per plans and you’ll be fine.
Scribe lines are also not that accurate so don’t count on them for much either other than
An initial trim line.
