I'm looking for advice about where to cut the leading edge of the canopy. I've posted a pic of the leading edge, but I'm uncertain where would be the best place to cut. This canopy is for a RV-7 tip up.
Cut wherever it makes contact. If you cut above, bit will just fit lower. If you leave extra, it's more of an edge you have to transition with the trim work.
If you plan Sika, draw a line where it makes contact. That will be where the Sika primer and Sika bead need to be applied.
I thought mine had an initial trim line on the canopy. As Larry said, trim to the contact area. You can then trim as required for the best fit. I used a belt sander when it got close. Don't forget to polish the edges with finer grits of sandpaper when you have the final fit. I went progressively finer to 2000 grit.
