Another RV-8 puzzle

Working on my first condition inspection for this RV-8 I bought. There is a tab on the control column WD807 that has a black 3/32 screw attached and secured with a silver fiber locknut. It can't figure out what it's function is. I can't find any reference in the drawings or plans. Any guesses?

Hi Ed, I don't have this tab on mine. I can only guess where it came from and why. I doubt it will hurt anything.

Roll servo attach point
Trim
