alternative Lower Cylinder baffling instructions at JamesAircraft.com

Everyone knows how hard it is to get the lower baffles to fit tight and not leak. Mark Frederick does his F-1 Rocket this way and we did it on an RV-8 running at RENO. My understanding is Dan Horton came up with the idea.
So now, pics and instructions are on the JamesAircraft.com website under instructions. Everyone is welcome to use them and feedback would be appreciated.

We are also making seals to go inside wheelpants to seal to the tire with a flexible strip. These are also Dan Horton's idea. We have them to fit our 5.00x5 and 6.00x6 wheel pants and Team Rockets wheel pants.
Instructions and pictures will be on our website soon.

And we are still selling our Sam James Cowlings for those who want a little more speed or a different look on their RV. We will be at Oshkosh again in the Team Rocket Booth so stop by and visit.

Great stuff. Once you’ve created the silicon baffles, how are you securing them in place? Did you use the previous aluminum baffles to hold the silicon in place?

The silicon is still uncured when you peel the back off and stick it to the fins. It is amazingly easy and fast to do.

Can't claim to have invented the idea. Pretty sure folks have been doing it for years. The EZ crowd comes to mind.

You're welcome to some Lycoming photos to go with those upside down Continental cylinders ;)

And better make sure folks know to put a little strip of sealant between the outside of the glass/silicone wrap and the inside of the aluminum wrap. Don't want any air sneaking between them and doing nothing.
