Aero Endeavor EFI/EI

While at OSH, I visited with Ronnie Saner of Aero Endeavors, subject being a new EFI/EI setup for Lycoming. AE's system isn't built around a proprietary controller (like SDS or EFII), but rather it is based on a MoTec M130, a respected piece of motorsports hardware. The application is currently developmental. All the peripheral hardware (fuel rails, coil mounts, etc) was nice. They're also doing a lot of Yamaha work over in the STOL market.

Not an endorsement, but worth watching. Hopefully Ronnie will come aboard as an advertiser when he is ready to market.

A solid fuel rail between the cylinders? Are the injector bosses expected to hold up to the individual cylinder movement during operation? Or are the injector bodies or seal o-rings expected to take up this movement? Perfect recipe for high pressure fuel leaks. Or will users be required to solidly bridge the cylinders together with plates similar to what Sky Dynamics sells (or used to sell).

Yeah, I saw that too. My impression is current installations are custom, and if a builder prefers top injectors in stainless SDS mounts, they would happily do it. These guys are coming from the race and STOL worlds, with an experimental mindset.

Mostly I like the idea of well supported generic controller. Our two current EAB vendors are centered on individuals.
