Lower cowl mods to fit an EXP119

RV-Kiwi

I'm New Here
I have an earlier 2022 Finish kit for a taildragger with standard engine and now have an EXP119 engine arriving soon.
Does anyone have experience on what problems I will encounter with fitting the new engine using the earlier finish kit?
I know the lower cowl is different and I can modify it to fit the Vans X-Over exhaust with two outlets.
Are there other differences in the later cowls for engine clearance, air intake etc.
I have followed the OP62 instructions and have ordered the cowl exit door kit for the centre tunnel.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The front center part of the cowl is different to accommodate the FM200 and possibly other reasons such as exhaust. I believe you can buy just the lower part of the cowl if you so wish to.

I finished my -7 with the standard cowl. I have the AEIO-390x and not the EXP119 version as that was not invented yet at the time.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions. The new cowl may be my best option.

Why not check with Van’s before outlaying the extra cash for a new lower cowl. The snorkel is different to accommodate the fuel body, but I don’t think the cowl has been modified in that area, I could be wrong.
