Weep no more - WTB a couple AD42H rivets already countersunk

Hello

Right, taken the tank off three times this winter to repair a leak and just when you think it's all done one of the rivets started to weep. Sigh!

Read Paul Dye's 'Weep no more' article with interest and a level of trepidation. I am not sure I like the idea of drilling out an existing rivet... to replace it with a blind rivet. That said, I do trust his advice and it seems better to try that before pulling the tank again, especially as the rivet is not that easily accessible.

I am UK based and although I can get AD42H rivets here, I do need to get a min quantity, plus I would have to make the tools Paul suggests in his article. Although I am happy to make the effort, I'd rather invest the time in my RV build project, so I thought I check here and see if someone has already done the same repair and has countersunk some spare AD42Hs already I could buy?

As said, I am UK based but obviously happy to cover postage and pay a fair price for the rivets as well.

Thanks!

Have you tried AK42H or AK43H? You need to open the hole to number 30 and very lightly countersink the skin to 100 degrees, but they have worked great for me. I use ATS-100-3 piloted countersink. I get 1 or 2 weepers per year on my 18 year old tanks and this has been a very easy way to repair them. Good luck!

Don’t you mean to 120* - which is what the AK series is …
