I've got maybe some conflicting info. The most recent PMAG manual states that shielded wire on the P lead is not required. A wire schematic by SteinAir when using the three position DPDT switch ,(LT-005) indicates a shielded wire for the P lead . The schematic also states to follow the PMAG manual. Feel like I'm missing something here...

How are people doing their wiring with similar switch and PMAG? Appreciate any insight or recommendations!

For those with the OFF-ON-TEST switched, I have a question..I have 3amp breakers to locking toggles for the 12v. Then I have a regular, conventional key switch to ground/unground the P-leads. When I enter the timing function, I power the 12v, yet leave the p-leads grounded, I do the puff twice, then cycle the power to lock it in. How can you do that with the Stein Air switches without the p-leads going ungrounded and risking a cylinder firing?
 
Just don't turn the prop. Get the prop it where you want it, then power up, set the mags, then power down. It's not like it's going to leap into action the second you power the mags on.

Shielded wire is not required, nor on the tacho lead. 22 years of P-mag running experience.
But, there is no harm in using shielded wire if it makes you feel happy, only a small weight and cost penalty.
