Flyboy Accessories Tow Bar Bolt

Can anyone give a review on this this bolt? I have a Doug Bell tail wheel on my RV7 & I am considering putting this on to make it easier to push & pull out of my hangar with a Bogi bar?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks

I have one and I like it. I've used it with a JD Air fork and now a Aero Garage fork, works fine with either with appropriate spacers. It's well made, the only slight difficulty is installing the cotter pin in a way that it doesn't interfere with the tow-bar. The cotter pin has to be completely flush on both sides of the nut since the tow bar cup goes over it. It's a little fiddly but not a big deal. I use a set of knipex to set the head of the cotter pin flush, then bend one leg over the end and actually stick it into the end of the axle, then cut the other leg flush.

It may be cleaner to install a roll pin in place of the cotter pin. Or drill and tap for a set screw.

But cotter pins are cheap, easy to find, easy to replace, and everyone understands how they work. That's why they are provided.

I have it. It works fine and I'd buy it again. Like Lucas said, you've got to be diligent with the install of the cotter pin

I have them on my -7 and my Champ (API tailwheel) work great and can use the bogi bar on both, I tried to go the roll pin route but the size was either a loose or very tight fit so I just made the cotter pin fit. These bolts will also work well with a mod I am planning for my minimax tug, and the DH tug that I am in the process of building (very slow build)

The tow bar bolt was one the THE BEST upgrades I've done to my RV-8. I've got the blue Scott Towbar from Spruce and its a life changer for moving the plane around.

As for the cotter pin - just clip on end and bend the around the side and give it a couple taps with a hammer to get it pretty flush and the towbar "cups" slide right over it.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I think I am going to order it today. I was going to order a Bogi bar but I will look into the Scott Towbar. I know nothing about it.

Again, I want to Thank Everyone for helping me. This is the best site one could ever ask for.

Respectively
