Plane power 99-1012 internally regulated or not?

Weird, my PP alternator just quit suddenly and I was certain it’s internally regulated but looking at Q&A on aircraft spruce that question was asked and the response was NO it requires an external regulator. I have no such regulator and a very confused. Anyone know where I can get a parts listing for this alternator?

I have a new in the box Plane Power from my RV10 FWF kit I will sell for $800 if you need it. I think they sell for almost double that.

Yes, P.P. Alternators have an internal V.R.. VAN'S has supplied these in most of their FWF kits for years, and failure rates appear higher than a B&C or an automotive unit. Got 375 hours out of my first one before bearing failure. At the time P.P. would not repair these units, although now I am told that they can be returned for repair.

The 99-1012 Alternator - which is included in the AL12-EI60B/C kit , IS internally regulated.

The regulator is a Unipoint/Victory 6621, which is a modified-clone of the WAI/Transpo IN240,IN257,IN259.
Plug code is 312, Pins are (S, IG, L). Set Point is ~14.5Vdc, 60A
Diode Bridge is a WAI INR724 (or clone), 8 Diodes.
Stator is a WYE configuration.
Rotor has 12 Poles (6 [N-S])

If you put one in your airplane, please put a cooling duct pointing at the regulator heatsink fins...

Brian, do you have info on the parts needed to repair the AL12-170B/C?

Thanks to all who responded to this post. It is a great thing there is so much knowledge and willingness to help others in this forum. Based on input re the rectifier I fixed this plane power alternator for $37 with a new rectifier assembly from Amazon. I also bought a brush/regulator assy from Aircraft Spruce in case I need one. Basically unless a catastrophic failure of the stator occurs I have this thing covered for the future.
