As I dig in behind the instrument panel of my "new to me" RV-8A, I'm finding some interesting things - e.g. an old AmeriKing Altitude Encoder that I *think* is still hooked up to my Garmin GNC300XL.

But I also found this box, and I don't know what it is. I'm going to head to the hangar tomorrow, and try to run the wires to see where they come from/where they go (like Cotton Eyed Joe), but thought you folks might be able to ID it.

Thanks!

Nice! Thank you both. That's exactly what it is - I even have those same rheostats. It seems to run my instrument panel lighting.

You are creating wiring diagrams as you go, right? Assuming the plane didn't come with one...
I’m using Claude to write a detailed POH, so I’m in the info gathering stage. But yes, that’s the goal! Claude doesn’t generate images, and AI is generally poor at technical drawings. Does anyone have a recommendation for a tool to make a digital wiring diagram?

Search is your friend. But FWIW, I used ExpressSCH. There are many, many others, and everyone recommends whichever one *they* used. Just pick a decent one and get it started.
