You dont have our airpark on the map-----not by scrolling the map at least.

A34, Dayton NV does show up when I tried a search however.

The website defaults to restaurants, which is what users search for most frequently. When you select the airpark filter, A34 will show up. Entering A34 specifically will always get it show up, regardless of the filters.

OK, got it.

Fly•Walk•Eat - Map of all US residential airparks

The title of your thread makes it look like it was specific to airparks.

It's unlikely I'll ever be in a position to OWN an airpark property, however, I would love to occasionally rent on vacation once my build is complete. I ran across their booth at AirVenture '2024 and hope to create some memories!

Unfortunately, the iOS app requires a very recent iOS version, leaving owners of older phones out of luck. The web version is very nice though!

I applaud the effort, but I think that this data may not be 100%. My work airport (KBEC) shows up under the restaurant tab with a bunch of walkable restaurants listed. It's true that those restaurants exist and are "walkable" if you don't mind hoofing it a couple of miles, but the airport is the Beechcraft factory runway. It's a public use airport in the sense that it's not restricted, but there's no FBO, services, or transient parking there whatsoever. Implying that you can just pop in there and skip down the road to grab a sandwich is a bit misleading.

Conversely, the restaurant at 1K1 should be listed as on the field, but you have it listed as walkable. In that case walkable means get out of your plane and walk about 50 feet through the patio to the hostess station.

I figure it’s going to be a process to get this tool perfected. But I’m impressed so far and my favorite four-letter word is FREE. 🤣 I have found it very easy to update the entries where I have local knowledge, to make them more accurate.

Very difficult to keep all this stuff up to date across the entire country as many past effort have shown. This one, as well as others, have the ability for users to make updates. If it is incorrect, you can fix it.

There's no gov't source for this data, so I wrote a series of scripts using a Google programatic API to find all business near each airport. Then I sorted them into OnField, Walkable, or Drivable based on distance from airport center. Then I looked at each and every business at each airport, and adjusted those filters by looking at distance from GA ramp instead of the center of airport. Then I adjusted to account for business that were technically close, but you'd have to cross a runway, fence, or drainage ditch.

I'm pretty pleased with the result, but it is not perfect. That's why I added a very simple edit process to fine tune to walkability, and let me know of new or closed restaurants. In fact, I have about a dozen corrections sitting in my InBox waiting for me to approve, will do that as soon as I catch up with VAF this morning.

And thanks for those PIREPs.

Nice idea and nice work.

Are you using Google maps? If so, and if possible, I vote for incorporating only those businesses that rate highly and leaving off those that are poorly reviewed. Don't want to fly all the way somewhere only to be disappointed.

if you will take a minute to check out the website, you will find an edit button for the restaurant and send a message to the developer that is private.

Perhaps everyone should look at their home field and help the guy out which in turn helps us all out.

Your correct that the information is not fully accurate, BUT, we have the option to help make it more accurate by editing the info. This is a site we can help make better. Spend a minute and edit your home airport info.

I am proud to have added Southern Soul BBQ at KSSI. Super walkable, it's right off the end of one runway. As if I needed another reason to fly to that area (it's gorgeous down there)!

Some things are better seen visually on a map instead of in an alphabetical list, and residential airparks are certainly one of those things. https://flywalkeat.com now has an airparks filter that'll display all airparks, complete with links to surrounding MLS listings to see what’s available. Airpark search made easy. Enjoy.

Nice work. Now, if the cost of moving my airplane - sales tax/ use tax/ property tax was linked to each airport, THAT would be extremely useful.

Sounds like someone needs a new iPhone ;)
