As for the VariViggen- a hot rod it was not. Long takeoff rolls, hard surface runways and not an aerobatic machine. It was comfortable for cruising but not a lot of baggage space. And with a rear mounted engine there was not a lot of ventilation during taxi on a hot summer day and fairly anemic climb performance. Overall it was kinda cool looking but better relegated to a museum than my hangar. Not even in the same league as an RV, more in the league of a souped up Cessna 150
