I'm approaching the point I need to attach the canopy to the frame.

Is there a recommended outlet for Sikaflex in the NW USA? I went to West Marine and they didn't have 205/209.

Thanks

I got mine from West Marine. They didn't stock it at the store, so I just ordered it online and they shipped it to the store.

You can get both from Amazon in CA

I purchased some Sikaflex via Amazon for a test coupon recently and was surprised to get stuff that was a couple of months expired. Not a biggie for the project I was using it for, but no way would I use it to attach a windscreen. When I need Sika for the "real" project, I'll buy it from some place that has non-expired product and based on my experience, that means somewhere other than Amazon.

If you are buying Sika from Amazon, make sure you buy them directly from the Sika store and not some 3rd party sellers. The 3rd party stuff is junk as I found out.
West Marine has the stuff but it is generally more expensive.

Any marine supplier will have this. Several reputable online marine places. Don’t ever buy products with expirations from amazon.

Larry turned me on to Fisheries Supply last year and their flagship store is in Seattle WA. 40 miles North from me. Good prices and quick shipping.

A little off topic but would like to know about the 209? I don't see that part number for Sikaflex. Are most using the 295 for adhering the windows/canopy?

Thanks

A lot of places carry the Sikaflex 295 UV, but not many carry the Sika 205 activator or 209D primer.

I hate to rehash this, but I've been reviewing the Sika USA website and reading up on 295UV. SIKA publishes a pre-treatment chart (attached) that doesn't show an "activator" use for PMMA (which is what I think our canopies are made of) for the 209D that everyone is using.
Has anyone talked to a Sika rep to get clarification on using the activator?

The green left column is for small items, the blue right column is for large items with flex.
And, the first row is preferred, second alternative.
AP-C stands for fine abrasive pad.

Fisheries supply just got a new batch of 209D Primer. I ordered last week and it is arriving tomorrow.

Just checked and they have the activator 205 in stock and the 295UV in black.......One stop shopping for you. Make sure you order a couple of the applicator tips. They are 1.50 ea. Thread into the tube of sealant.
