The PAP directs us to adjust the AV-60000 trim adjustment knob to the maximum position (page G1-3, latest edition). Now that I have about 20 hours of time in my -12, I'd like to turn down this knob a bit because I find myself fighting a bit to fine tune pitch for cruise (my friend who flew off the cards for the PAP also noted it seemed overly sensitive to him). Is there harm in doing so? Does anyone know why this is the recommended setting with the autopilot installed?

I had the same problem. I don’t think that knob really does much. If you’ve got Dynon avionics, the auto trim settings are what I adjusted to address that issue.

If you’re interested, attached are the adjustments I made and how to find them.

See thread “Trim troubleshooting - new installation”. It seems, setting the adjustment knob to anything other than fully clockwise will result in a PWM signal which is incompatible with certain Garmin configurations.
