Just got back from touring the Lockheed-Martin plant in Marietta, Ga. We saw C-130 J models being built. (I liked how the flight deck is built up starting on a jig.) They make about 12 planes a year.
Right next to the C130s were F-22s being built. Of course we couldn't get too close, but could see the whole line from beginning to end. When we heard that an F-22 was about to leave we headed to the ramp in time to see it taxi, then depart with an F-15 flying chase. The F-15 needed afterburners to keep up!
Now I'm home with some new airplane posters and I think I'll tackle those fuel lines.
