anybody have a suggestion or better yet, a picture,link and part number from a supplier that makes a quality connector for the (removable) passenger stick? Looks like nine wires or pins.

Or a supplier with cannon plugs. or I can go the bulky sub connector route.

Hi Mark,

These connectors are not cheap but it is what we used when I used to engineer aerospace components. I am sure they have something that would work for you. You could also look at digikey or something.

Hi Mark,

I'm not a builder yet, but I've been lurking around these sites for a while. I can't find the exact post, but I remember someone saying that they put the passenger's push-to-talk somewhere on the panel...not on the stick. This way an inexperienced/new passenger couldn't inadvertently press it; as well as the person sitting there without a stick could also talk on the radio if need be. In fact, I think the PTT was hidden in an inconspicuous place on the panel that was not obvious to a new person, but yet easy to operate once briefed where it was.

Just another perspective.

thanks paul, thanks gil. I found a Newark catalog in my den so I'm sure the racecar stuff years ago came from them. good link. I'll check the digikey link, heard lots of good stuff about them.

I hope I'm not adding a bunch of weight.

These Micro-X connectors from Newark electronics make for nice small connectors, which are low-cost and weatherproof.

These also make neat connector for the trim servos and stick wiring. They have a postive lock and won't vibrate off.
