My wife ordered a model + interior from FDM as a gift for me....this was back in November. She just called them the other day and they told her they anticipated having it done by mid-April. It was expensive, but I have a friend that had his plane done (one of those Czech LSA's) and the quality was quite impressive.

That looks good, what does it cost?

At the last AirVenture - $500 for the base model + $150 for a detailed interior ...

Not cheap, but the best way I knew to "memorialize" my airplane for the future.

An update ...

Got my model today and couldn't be happier with the result - this is an (unpaid) unabashed "promo" for their work. I would recommend to anyone who would like to "memorialize" their plane (for the future) consider doing this. I have been building/flying this airplane for 32 years now, and there may not be many more left - but when that time comes I'll have as good a substitute for the full size version as I could possibly hope for.

FDM - Factory Direct Models (I ordered mine at OSH - but the internet works just as well). They were always quick to respond to any questions/input I might have regarding this project & a "manager" was assigned to it in the Philippines, and followed it all the way through its development.

Beautiful fit, finish & quality.

Thought I'd tag onto this post re: FDM models...I was just notified that they're ready to ship (after 5 months from order), sent photos for final approval.
