I have been flying with in ear headsets for about 12 years and find them so much more comfortable and quieter than even my $1000 Lightspeed noise canceling headset.
I started with a couple of the better known brands and enjoyed them for years. I had the cables start to deteriorate after a few years. One year sitting under the Card's RV-9A wing at Oshkosh and hearing Scott excitedly talking about his new hobby of building a better headset, I decided to try a pair.
I was very happy with the quality of his set so it became my primary headset. My wife was stuck with the other brand. This summer while doing some other improvements/maintenance on the plane, I needed to repair the cords on the other brand again. Emailed Scott to get some universal replacement cords and he mentioned he had been continually upgrading his CQ1's and I should send them in for a "trade in".
Quick turn around and I get a my cords and an upgraded headset.
I was very impressed with the sound quality and felt these were filtering much better than the other sets. Scott denies his set was the improvement but I am very happy with this set.
He has my business for life.

Thank you Mark for the kind words. It truly warms my heart that I can contribute to the simple joy of aviation for so many. It is funny how the frustration that what I wanted didn't exist so many years ago (the competition still hasn't moved an inch!) turned into a "hobby", then a real passion, mostly driven by the pilot community and the other interesting non-aviation applications! Part of the reason that my -8 isn't flying yet, but soon!

Yes, the CQ Headset is a continuous improvement product. It isn't driven by a marketing machine trying to sell you the next big thing every year. Mark just experienced a lot of years of that improvement that is not slowing.

CMW has transformed in the last couple of years and I'm so grateful to our customers that continue to enjoy a basic CQ1, our unique and tiny bluetooth control, LEMO plug, or even in Orange.

-- That year at OSH many moons ago, Mark sat with me late into the darkness helping design the HVAC (in Texas we just call it A/C) in the, then new, shop building. When it came time to go toe-to-toe with the local contractor, he provided ... words to get it done the way I wanted.
