Foam in the tunnel DWG 36A

Plans call for a piece of foam to separate brake lines and fuel line. I'm wondering what others have done.
Foam in the tunnel doesn't seem like a good idea.

I use 3/4" neoprene sound deadener foam channeled to separate the lines. I know some don't like the stuff but it works for me.

Other options -
adell clamps with some sort of cross bracket.
3d printed cradles.
wood blocks with routed channels & felt lined.
or other ingenious means.

You just need something in there to stop the lines rattling around and wearing against some surface - which I have seen (& replaced) on a couple RVs I have serviced...

I used several Hellermanntyton cable tie mounting plates similar to this:
https://www.hellermanntyton.us/products/154-00900/
Prosealed them to the floor of the tunnel. Then used a clear vinyl tube longitudinally split around each fuel and brake line, then used cable ties to attach to the mounting plate. Electrical wiring similarly secured to the remaining slots in the mounting plate.

I used a few pieces of polyethylene foam that was used as packaging material. I cut a few pieces (8) roughly 3"x3"x3/4" and placed them under and over the fuel line along its length.

This serves to *isolate* (not *insulate*) the fuel line from the belly skin and the center tunnel cover (F-782C).

Bill, I used a piece of cork on the floor and pieces of old air line slit and wrapped around the lines. Worked well.

Hey! I have a big box of wine corks. They are about the right thickness too. Better buy Sweetie some more wine! :D

Larry,

There is a place in Illinois called Skandia Inc. I purchased seat foam and also sound deadening foam from them when I had my seats made.

This is from their website: Skandia is a leading aircraft interiors specialist providing innovative product and expert services to the aviation industry since 1983.
