...getting it started. I flew up to KGLE for gas Friday in smooth, cool air. In HDG mode just going from one emergency landing strip to the next on the 13 minute flight - some of these little private grass strips can be a challenge to spot. Good practice and good times.

Crossed a big building milestone this weekend. Thanks to a friend who is also fellow 14 builder/flyer and my wife, we made two pieces one. 228 days into this project.

Two big bits

Two shall be one.

Boyne Mt Resort

This morning we finally got some nice weather so I flew up to Boyne Mt Resort. 1:20 min from my hangar to landing. The airport is part of the resort and is right next to the ski area. It is a nice runway and office with plugs so you can plug your engine heater in to keep it warm while you ski or get something to eat!
The video is of my takeoff and you can see how close it is. It is NOT anything like CA or CO resorts with about 600' vertical but they make the most with what they have. Im making an access panel in the back of the luggage area so I can carry skis. That will be fun!

Nearly 50 knot tailwind over the northern Colorado mountains, thankfully other than big downdrafts the ride was smooth.

Finally finished my condition inspection and got airborne again. Everything Ops checked great after the new plugs and SD8 rebuild. Fuel tank leak showed up post flight with a couple blue streaks, probably pulling the tank after I fly the fuel out of it. Flew my buddy to lunch at We-B-Smokin for cleaning the belly last week, we had a Good Time!

Bow Valley

Went for a 0.7 spin out of Calgary Springbank (CYBW) out to Banff up the Bow Valley and back through Lake Minniwanka. I wanted to go to Lake Louise, but ceilings were dropping. This never gets old as any given time of year it is different.

Post Maintenance Flight

Updated the G3X software; pulled the cowling and adjusted the idle down. Test flew to two first-time local airports (Y47 and 45G) before returning to PTK.
Idle still too high; discussed it with Curt Martin and know what to do next. Just have to wait out the weather.
