RV-12iS Cowl Louver Cutouts

I’m getting ready to start on the louver cutouts on my RV-12iS cowl. Does anyone have some pictures showing how much material they removed for the louver openings, or suggestions on how to trim the louvers so all the louver openings look similar?

Here are a few pictures of RV12 louvers I took at OshKosh. The two orange ones are from the RV12 at Van's tent.

Louver

Not a 12 but I fabricated louver gates. They are slotted to slide. Nutplates are on the louvers. Holes in the cowl are the same dimension so the gate can close the holes. They are manual. Loosen the screws. Slide the gate open, closed or in between. Tighten the screws.
Photo probably explains it. Open and closed.
Ugly at the moment but soon they will be painted and pretty. Outside color will match the exterior.
