Coiled tubing to straight? My tip....

How do you make a coiled 12' tube as shipped from Van's straight? Others have probably solved before my post but in case you needed a method, this worked for me and was pretty fast. I tried bending by hand but less that great results...

Two blocks of wood with 1/4" holes drilled clamped into vise:

Feed through the blocks with a little WD40, clamp with vise grips and pull back and forth a couple times. Now I have a nice and straight 12' piece of tube ready to bend into shape for fuel and vent lines:

Another method that works pretty well if someone doesn't want to make blocks and put lube on the tubing, is to just unroll against a flat surface (work table top, etc.). Gets it close enough that gentle messaging will do the rest.

If you want it nearly perfect, you can put a flat board on it and roll the tube between the table top and board.

Great tip!
