We woke up to this Saturday morning at 3K' (I live just at the right edge of the yellow area). Cold front just came through and it's bumpy.

No RVating (maybe this evening). Exercise and computer work. Yuck.

Hope the flying was better in your neck of the woods.

I’ld forgotten about it being 599 when I took off, I was verifying my fuel calibration by burning down to 1 gallon on the way to cheaper gas. Love putting hours on this thing, never imagined how great of an airplane it is.

Sofi Stadium

Took a flight to KCMA for breakfast this morning and Rita snapped a shot of Sofi Stadium - home of the Superbowl tomorrow.

Top wing skins, and fixing the leak in my fuel tank.

Enjoyed the smoothest day we have had all winter. The kind of weather where you can't help but stop and take a picture. Starting to feel like spring again. Also, the stars aligned and there wasn't 30 knots of wind in Cody. First time flying in since about October!

It doesn't get much better than flying along the Eastern Sierra for a few hours. Checked out Kern Valley for lunch.

There's now a procedure for calibrating the Garmin G3X AOA at various points. I did my second flight to see what I already had, and to see if I wanted to go through the calibration. Turns out the the present settings are pretty close to what they recommend. But I still think AOA is over-hyped for other than stall warning, especially visual indications in turbulence.

Not yesterday, but day before, on a three mile final, tower asked me to fly 20 knots faster for a mile to improve spacing. AOA would not have helped there...

Elk

Vlad, when I used to count animals from an airplane for Game and Fish. We did exactly what you did, took a picture and counted the shadows.

First passenger this Sunday

On a cold (-15C*) afternoon, this Sunday, I took my first passenger in the 8.
I promised her such way back then...
40 minutes to see the sights around Quebec City.
She had the grin despite the cold
