Bendix Mag 500 hour IRAN - DIY or send out?

As the title says. I have two Bendix mags (S4LN-20/21) that are right at 500 hours. Is the inspection something that’s reasonable to DIY?

Alternatively, are the Bendix mags more suitable for running on condition (I understand they’re a bit more robust than the Slick equivalents)?

There are a few special tools required as well as inspections, special bearing grease & detailed procedures in the Bendix Magneto Repair/Overhaul Manual. If you have impulse couplings there are special inspections for them as well.
If you don’t have the manual, tools & technical expertise to tackle this job; I would recommend you send them out.
I have Bendix Mags & “shower of sparks” which eliminates impulse couplings.
Bendix mags are very robust & have been very reliable.
