Landing gear attach bracket

The instructions for beginning to fit the landing gear legs state

"File a small radius on the corners of the U-801-L & -R Gear Legs so they nest flush in the U-804 Inboard Main Gear Attach Brackets."

My question is which surface are they saying should be flush? It is easy to get the end of the gear flush but to get the top of the gear leg flush I will have to remove like 1/16" of material from the bottom of the end of the gear leg.

This is the fit of the bracket without any adjustment.

Mark,

I have attached an annotated version of your picture to hopefully clarify this for you.
