Shipping with Partain

I recently posted on a thread cautioning folks to be very careful when shipping and to make sure they understand the insurance issues. It may have come across as critical of Tony Partain, as he was the original topic of the thread.

I want to publicly state that one of Partain's drivers picked up a set of wings and the guy was VERY good. Having seen the skill with which he handled the parts, I would never ship through a standard carrier again. I cannot speak for all of the drivers that Partain uses, but this guy was awesome.

I still highly recommend you know your insurance and understand the difference between brokers and shippers, but for my business, I would use this guy again in a heartbeat.

If you have Hull insurance on your plane (or project even) the Not In Motion portion of the coverage will normally cover the airplane while disassembled and being transported.

Can even apply to expensive component parts during transport.

Saves a lot of money in certain cases.
Read your policy or check with your broker to fully understand limitations.
