RV-12iS Oil Cooler Hose Fitting Wear

Found by my mechanic during an oil change. The FF-00024 oil cooler hose fitting was much too close to a spring on the #1 exhaust. Do not know how long this condition existed. Have ordered a new hose assembly ($$$). As an aside, a local high school build is nearing completion, and their clearance at this location is almost non-existent as well. Mechanic has simply shifted the muffler slightly, which gave the clearance in the last picture below.

After moving the muffler...

Legacy RV-12 has similar problem where hose from oil pump passes between exhaust stacks on right side of engine. Not easy to visualize problem when lower cowling is removed and oil cooler is hanging and out of normal position. Best way to verify is to remove upper cowling and use inspection mirror. Hose routing comes close to touching front exhaust spring.
