Trim Pushrod Issue

I have a question that I'm pretty sure I know the answer to.
When I match drilled the trim pushrod I was off a little which caused the rivet not to sit perfectly square. As you can see in the pic it caused the rivet to fold. When I went to set the 2nd rivet it started to do the same so I stopped. What would you recommend?

For the function they serve they’re probably ok, but I wouldn’t compromise build quality on something like this. I’d carefully drill them out. But from the photos, they appear to be too long. Double check the size before reinstalling.

The rivet is in shear. The shop head is basically a retaining device to keep the rivet in the hole. I wouldn’t worry about it. But yon can never go wrong replacing it unless you screw up drilling it out.

Not the prettiest rivets but feel it's acceptable.

How are you riveting them?

I found if I wasn’t VERY stable with those, folding was a problem. My final technique was well jigged pushrod in my c-frame and my 3x gun with the pressure up 10-20 psi from normal. That first hit or three really made the difference. I had more problems with the aileron pushrods. I made a few extra before I found my setup.

I used a hand squeezer.

I know the feeling.. I didn’t build my plane, but have been doing upgrades. At one point I was stressing about how some of my rivets were looking, but finally realized that I wasn’t going to crash since I was only installing brackets to hold my ADSB-IN box behind the panel. :D
