Streamlining Gear Legs and Intersection Fairings

Plans call for filling the intersection of the gear leg fairing and wheel pant. But, there does not seem to be any plan for filling or otherwise streamlining the intersection fairings with the leg fairings. Has anyone done this, or is there a good reason not to.

Except for being able to get them on and off, in relation to the gear leg fairing ... as long as you have a good plan for that

I find that mine flex a good bit more at the lower joint, less on top. Will be curious to see how well they handle the load from the wheel bouncing around.

Go for it! It's the essence of ABA!

Wind tunnel testing

Interference drag is the question here, and only a wind tunnel can give you the true answer. Sure, you can try for empirical evidence but that will take you a lot more Avgas bucks than rewarded bang.

For example: Many folks work on the wing root fairing to improve on the Van's rubber strip. It looks nicer, seems better, but is it?
