I replaced my alternator in April 2017, it failed July 2021. 402 hours, the internal regulator actually failed. -10 volts to plus 15 volts for the last leg home from OSH. NAPA replaced at no cost, hard to complain. It wasn’t catastrophic, a very gradual event. It did cause my GRT EFIS to go blank a couple of times on the way to OSH. Worked all the way home. I really believe that if your EIS, voltage 2 goes below 2 volts with yellow caution warning, it’s time to replace the alternator. I am electronically challenged, I’m doing the best I can.
